Always-on VPN and “Block connections without VPN” on Android
Android has two system settings for VPN apps: Always-on VPN starts Pekpik VPN automatically and keeps it running, even after you restart your phone, and Block connections without VPN stops all internet traffic whenever the VPN isn’t connected. Connect with Pekpik VPN once first, then turn them on from Account > Always-on VPN in the app.
Turn on Always-on VPN
- Open Pekpik VPN and connect once, so Android has granted the VPN permission.
- Tap Account, then under Connection tap Always-on VPN. This opens Android’s VPN settings.
- Tap the settings (gear) icon next to Pekpik VPN.
- Turn on Always-on VPN.
- Optional: turn on Block connections without VPN as well.
Menu names vary by phone maker. If the app can’t open the VPN screen directly, open Settings and search for “VPN”.
What “Block connections without VPN” does
With this on, your phone has no internet at all unless Pekpik VPN is connected. This is how Kill Switch works on Android: the Kill Switch row in Pekpik VPN opens the same Android settings screen.
If you disconnect Pekpik VPN, or it can’t connect, apps lose internet until you reconnect or turn the setting off.
Turn it off
- Open Android Settings and go to the VPN screen (often Network & internet > VPN).
- Tap the gear icon next to Pekpik VPN.
- Turn off Block connections without VPN and Always-on VPN.
