“Move Pekpik VPN to the Applications folder”

Mac

The DMG version of Pekpik VPN can only start the VPN when the app is inside your Applications folder. If you opened it straight from the DMG window or from Downloads, quit it, drag it into Applications, and open it again from there. Then click Connect.

What you may see in the app

  • Move Pekpik VPN to the Applications folder, reopen it, then connect again.

Why this happens

macOS only lets the Pekpik VPN system extension run from an app in the Applications folder. Before connecting, the app checks where it is running from, and stops with this message if it is anywhere else, such as the mounted DMG, Downloads or Desktop.

Fix it

  1. Click the Pekpik VPN icon in the menu bar and choose Quit Pekpik VPN.
  2. Open the DMG again (or find the app in Downloads) and drag Pekpik VPN into the Applications folder. If asked, replace the existing copy.
  3. Eject the DMG and delete any other copies of Pekpik VPN outside Applications.
  4. Open Pekpik VPN from the Applications folder and click Connect.

The Applications folder in your home folder (~/Applications) also works.

On the first connection, macOS asks you to approve the system extension. See Approve the Pekpik system extension on Mac.
