Install the Pekpik VPN DMG on Mac

Install the app

1. Go to the Mac download page, check the requirements, and click Download the DMG.
2. Open the downloaded DMG file. A window opens with the Pekpik VPN app and a shortcut to your Applications folder.
3. Drag Pekpik VPN onto the Applications shortcut.
4. Eject the DMG, then open Pekpik VPN from your Applications folder.
5. If macOS says the app was downloaded from the internet and asks if you want to open it, click Open.

The app must run from the Applications folder. If you open it from the DMG or your Downloads folder, it shows “Move Pekpik VPN to the Applications folder, reopen it, then connect again.” when you try to connect.

First launch

1. Read the privacy summary and click Accept and Continue.
2. Pekpik VPN lives in the menu bar at the top of your screen and has no Dock icon. Click its menu bar icon to connect, or choose Open Pekpik VPN for the full window.
3. The app sets up a guest account for you automatically. You can link an email later.

First connection: approve the system extension

The DMG version uses a macOS system extension to run the VPN. The first time you click Connect, macOS blocks it until you approve it, and the app shows “Approve Pekpik VPN system extension in System Settings, then connect again.”

Follow Approve the Pekpik system extension on Mac, then click Connect again.

Check the download

Only download the DMG from pekpik.com. The download page lists the SHA-256 checksum of the current DMG. To check your file, open Terminal and run shasum -a 256 followed by a space and the path to the DMG, then compare the result with the checksum on the page.
