Approve the Pekpik VPN system extension on Mac
Mac
The DMG version of Pekpik VPN runs the VPN through a macOS system extension, and macOS blocks it until you approve it. Open System Settings, allow the Pekpik VPN extension, then go back to the app and click Connect again. You only need to do this once per install or update.
What you may see in the app
- Approve Pekpik VPN system extension in System Settings, then connect again.
When you see this
The first time you click Connect in the DMG version, macOS shows an alert that a system extension was blocked, and Pekpik VPN shows “Approve Pekpik VPN system extension in System Settings, then connect again.” This doesn’t happen in the Mac App Store version.
macOS Sequoia 15 or later
- Choose Apple menu > System Settings.
- Click General in the sidebar, then Login Items & Extensions.
- Find the network extensions entry, and turn on Pekpik VPN. Enter your Mac password if asked.
- Go back to Pekpik VPN and click Connect again.
macOS Ventura 13 or Sonoma 14
- Choose Apple menu > System Settings.
- Click Privacy & Security in the sidebar and scroll down to Security.
- Next to the message that system software from Pekpik VPN was blocked, click Allow. Enter your Mac password if asked.
- Go back to Pekpik VPN and click Connect again.
If it still won’t connect
- If macOS also asks to add a VPN configuration, click Allow.
- Make sure the app is in your Applications folder. If it isn’t, see “Move Pekpik VPN to the Applications folder”.
- After installing a new version, macOS may ask you to approve the updated extension again.
- Quit Pekpik VPN from its menu bar panel, open it again from Applications, and try once more.
