“Pekpik VPN installation is incomplete” on Mac

Mac

This message means the copy of Pekpik VPN on your Mac is missing its VPN component or is left over from an older version. Delete the app, download the latest DMG from pekpik.com, drag the new app into Applications, and open it from there. Your account isn’t affected.

What you may see in the app

  • Pekpik VPN installation is incomplete. Delete the old app, install the latest DMG into Applications, then reopen it.

Why this happens

Before connecting, the DMG version checks that its built-in system extension is present and correct. It shows this message if the extension is missing, or if the app still contains parts of an older build, for example after copying over an old version or restoring from a backup.

Reinstall the app

  1. Click the Pekpik VPN icon in the menu bar and choose Quit Pekpik VPN.
  2. Open your Applications folder and drag Pekpik VPN to the Trash. If macOS asks about removing the system extension, confirm.
  3. Download the latest DMG from the Mac download page.
  4. Open the DMG and drag Pekpik VPN into Applications.
  5. Open Pekpik VPN from Applications and click Connect. Approve the system extension if macOS asks.

Only install the DMG from pekpik.com. A copy from another website can trigger this message.

Your account after reinstalling

Reinstalling doesn’t delete your account. If you linked an email and the app opens as a guest, sign in with that email again. See Reinstalled the app: does it count as a new device?.
